2019: My Year in Review

2019-banner

Somehow another year has come and gone, and in the blink of an eye, it's time to look back on everything that has happened during 2019.

This is my fifth consecutive year writing a year-in-review post but this one is extra special as I'm also rounding up the decade - and what a decade it's been. The last ten years have taken me on an incredible journey with some of the highest highs and lowest lows of my life so far. Since 2010, I've gained my A-Levels and a degree, started my blog, lived in four different homes in four different towns, had six jobs and two internships, learned to drive, bought a house, and both loved and lost. It's been a wild ride, that's for sure!

In terms of years, 2018 had some incredible highs and was always going to be a tough one to follow. So, how did 2019 measure up?

Below is a selection of my personal highlights from 2019.

  • We adopted our second cat, Winston

  • We carried out our first big home improvement project since we moved in
  • I started a new job
  • I saw my NFL team play live for the first time

  • I completed my goal of reading 50 books in the year
  • I became pescatarian
  • I was lucky enough to cross several things off my bucket list
  • I enjoyed three wonderful holidays
  • I attended multiple concerts and shows
  • I visited some incredible places
  • My team escaped an escape room for the first time
  • I met some famous faces I admire greatly

  • I expanded my knowledge and interests in history, wildlife, and the world around us
  • The Writing Greyhound got a makeover with amazing new graphics

What a year it's been - and what a decade, too. In some ways, I will be sad to say goodbye, but as always, it's time to look ahead to the future and hope that the best is yet to come!
