What a year 2018 has been! It feels as though the past year has zoomed by in a flash; I've definitely packed a lot into the last twelve months. Despite that, I still feel as though it's important to stop for a minute and look back on my achievements of the last year.
This will be my fourth annual round-up post here on The Writing Greyhound and every year, I really enjoy remembering great memories and the best bits of the year. 2017 was a real high for me, but did 2018 manage to continue the upward trend? Let's find out!
Here are just a few of my personal highs from 2018:
- My partner and I became homeowners
- We adopted our beautiful cat, Winnie
- I moved into a new job role at work, progressing my career
- I learned a lot of practical skills around financing, managing, and maintaining a property
- We were able to decorate our home exactly the way we wanted
- I strengthened my relationships with family and friends
- I treated my mum to a wonderful day out in London for a 50th birthday surprise
- I attended some brilliant shows, gigs and events
- I got to know a new town and the area around where I now live
- My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful week in Snowdonia
- I read 26 books
- I attended two weddings and celebrated the happy couples' special days
- My partner and I went on a short break in the Peak District
- I attended my first event as a blogger
- I went to my first YALC and met some amazing authors
- I have been lucky enough to work on some fantastic brand collaborations
- I went to my first-ever hen party
- I climbed Mount Snowdon
- I met my biggest idol for the first time
- I realised that life isn't always going to be smooth sailing, but that's okay
- I was overwhelmed by the never-ending generosity of our friends, family and loved ones
So as we wave goodbye to another year, it's time to welcome the future with open arms. It's time to say a fond farewell to 2018 and look forward to everything that 2019 has in store!
